The cost of diapers is overwhelming for most families, but for those struggling to make ends meet, the $80 a month it takes to keep one baby clean and dry is crushing – especially since programs like WIC and SNAP can’t be used to cover the cost.
When children don’t have clean diapers, they can suffer from increased diaper rash, infection, and illness. And without their own supply of diapers, children are often unwelcome at daycare, which leads to parents missing work or school. This puts families in an impossible position, often forced to choose between paying for diapers and other basic needs.
